Jim Greiner Featured Performer at Grand Opening
of City Creek Center in Downtown SLC
LP artist and community drumming leader, Jim Greiner was a featured performer at the recent grand opening of the City Creek Center Mall in Salt Lake City. The new City Creek Center is the centerpiece of a $1.5 billion mixed-use development that is transforming downtown Salt Lake City.
Greiner performed twenty-five sets during the three and a half days of the opening festivities. His dynamic and enjoyable performances featured contemporary African, Caribbean, R&B, Funk and Rock rhythms which attracted crowds of enthusiastic visitors of all ages. As one event organizer put it, "Jim is a master at entertaining and engaging people!"
One highlight of Jim's performances was his rendition of a funky Hip Hop groove accompanied by a trio of local, break-dancers. The four performers attracted hundreds of mesmerized on lookers for over 30 minutes! Jim performed using a full set-up of LP hand percussion instruments including Classic Congas, Generation II Bongos, Giovanni Galaxy Djembe and his signature Jim Greiner Shekere.

Jim Greiner Conducts Drum Circle
At 39th Annual Wharf to Wharf Race!
LP clinician/educator Jim Greiner recently conducted a drum circle at the 39th Annual Santa Cruz Wharf to Wharf Race. The race, which began in 1973, starts at the beautiful Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in California.
The 10 K race attracts 15,000 runners from all 50 states and over 20 countries, including elite African runners and has raised over $300,000 for area school athletic programs. Jim's drum circle helps motivate the runners at the starting line and has become a Wharf to Wharf Race tradition. His drum circle was one of 50 musical groups that lined the race course along the scenic coast from the Santa Cruz Wharf to the Capitola Wharf in the Monterey Bay area.
Jim Greiner Drum Circle for Habitat Restoration
Jim Greiner, a longtime LP artist and clinician, recently conducted a community drumming event to celebrate a Habitat Restoration program at the decommissioned U.S. Army base in Fort Ord, California.
Jim's drum circle brought over 200 volunteers, including children and adults, together to celebrate the planting of over 5,000 native plant seedlings as part of the Monterey Bay Charter School's 4th Annual plant-a-thon.

Drumming Events at California Festival
LP artist and community drumming leader Jim Greiner recently hosted and performed at an LP co-sponsored drumming event to build community bonds, educate the public about percussion instruments, and raise awareness for community groups.
Jim conducted his drum circle and percussion clinic on the main stage area of the Mushroom Mardi Gras Festival, which was co-sponsored by The Music Tree, a local full-service music store. The festival took place over the Memorial Day Weekend in Morgan Hill, California and drew over 25,000 people per day.
The annual Mushroom Mardi Gras Festival helps raise funds to support local schools and other non-profit organizations. Jim promotes a message of community spirit through his drumming events. The Music Tree owner Darin Dixon enthused, "One of the highlights of the festival was Jim's energy and expertise which amazed everyone there; he really got us rockin'!"
