Meet Jim
Jim Greiner
is a longtime LP
artist, clinician, drum circle artist and the head of
LP's Recreational & Community
Drumming program. He is an internationally acclaimed percussionist, educator, master community drumming leader and
motivational speaker based in the Monterey Bay area of California.
Jim has been playing since 1970, including two years in Africa where he was deeply moved by the powerful community-building effects of group drumming. He performs a wide range of musical styles and situations including contemporary dance bands, theater companies, and CD, television and film soundtracks. Jim began teaching in 1980 and is recognized as one of America's leading percussion educators. As a member of LP's Education Advisory Council, he regularly contributes to LP's educational newsletter Reading, wRiting and Rhythm.
Jim is one of the leaders of the contemporary drum circle movement. His drum circle
techniques give people from all walks of life the percussive skills needed to help relieve stress, revitalize the body and mind
and build community bonds. He also appeared as host of LP's video/DVD,
Community Drumming For Health & Happiness,
which is available through Warner Brothers
and in wellness-oriented stores throughout North America.
Through his company, Hands-On! Drumming®, Jim leads interactive rhythm-based team building and motivational programs for corporations, conferences, schools and communities worldwide. He also gives percussion clinics and residencies in schools and communities throughout North America and beyond. In addition, Jim also plays percussion with The Bill Hopkins Rockin' Orchestra at corporate parties and resorts around the world.
